The post season kicked off for PNLL with 4 out of 5 teams playing tonight: Pleasanton Sports Park for the 9-10’s, Livermore at Junction for the 11’s, San Ramon at Athan Downs for the 12's, and Sycamore for the Seniors. We had a very good first night with 5 teams still in the winner’s bracket. Tournament brackets and field locations are available from the District 57 website.
10 Year Olds
They had a hard fought game tonight against San Ramon Valley but came up short and lost the game 5-2. They were down early 4-0 and then came back with 1 in the 2nd and another in the fourth to get it back to 4-2. San Ramon Valley got 1 more run in the fifth and held Pleasanton in the sixth to win 5-2. The good news was after the first inning it was a 2-1 game. There were a lot of cheering fans out tonight for the game and the next game is on Friday evening vs. the winner of the Dublin/Tassajara American winner playing tomorrow night at 5:30pm on field #4 at the Sports Park. Please come and cheer on our boys.
11 Year Olds
They won a very exciting game tonight against Granada. They were in a tight game for the first four innings being up early 2-0 and then down 4-2 before they busted it open with 9 runs in the top of the sixth and holding off Granada in the bottom of the sixth to win 11-4. Great opening round win and thanks to all the fans who went out to cheer them on to victory. The next game is Weds. 7/7 at 5:30, back in Livermore at Junction against San Ramon Valley. Please make sure you go out and cheer them on again.
12 Year Olds
They won a very exciting game tonight against Livermore National. They were down early 10-4 but never gave up. They came back to 10-8 and then tied the game at 10-10 in the fourth. They were down again 12-10 in the top of the sixth but then came charging back with 4 runs to win the game 14-12. What an exciting game and great come back win for PNLL. This was a great opening round win for the team and thanks to all the great fans out there tonight to cheer them on. The next game for them is Weds. 7/7 at 5:30, back in San Ramon at Memorial Field against Dublin. Please make sure you come out as I’m sure this will be an exciting game.
Juniors
They won tonight unfortunately by forfeit. They advance to the next round and play the winner of the Canyon Creek/Tassajara National game tomorrow tonight on Weds. 7/7 at 5:30 in San Ramon on Central Park #4. Please make sure you come out and cheer our junior team on.
Seniors
They won tonight against Livermore American by a score of 7-4. This was a great win for the senior level. There next game is tomorrow night 7/6 at 5:30, back in San Ramon vs. Tassajara American on Sycamore field #1. Please come out and cheer our seniors on.
In summary this was a great night for Pleasanton National Little League baseball. I want to thank all the kids who play, coaches who dedicate all there time to managing the kids, and the parents who are so supportive of the kids, coaches and the League. Thanks to all from me personally.
