Major Giants Earn Top Seed
May 25, 2007

The Giants wrapped up the Major Division regular season championship by outscoring the Diamondbacks 6-1 last week. There are three games remaining in the regular season schedule and the Giants hold a three and one-half game lead in the standings. Both the regular season champion and the runner-up get first-round byes in the PNLL Major Division tournament that starts June 11. The winner of the regular season and the winner of the tournament play a single game (June 18, if necessary) to determine who will represent PNLL in the District 57 Tournament of Champions beginning June 23.

In the Minor AAA Division, the Cubs have a narrow one-game lead over the Giants with three games remaining on the schedule (standings). The regular season champion will earn the #1 seed in the PNLL Minor Division Tournament. Similar to the Major Division, there is a one-game playoff between the Minor AAA Regular Season Champion and the Tournament Champion (June 18, if necessary) to see which team goes to the District 57 Tournament of Champions.
