Behind the third base line dugout last Sunday afternoon in Dublin, Charlene Giger boasted about how her son's baseball team has played undefeated for 13 years. Reid Giger, 19, a student at Monte Vista High School, has played on the team since the age of 6. His team, the Tassajara Challengers, secured yet another victory on Sunday.

Meanwhile at the dugout along the first base line, players and parents from the opposing team, the Pleasanton Challengers, simultaneously celebrated a win. The Pleasanton team is also undefeated.

In Challenger baseball, that's just how it is. Every player gets up to bat each inning; everyone gets a hit each time at bat; everybody gets on base; nobody gets called out.
